What's The Point?

Have you ever listened to someone talk seemingly about nothing, stopped them mid-sentence, and just ask, “What’s your point?” Have you ever been in the middle of an unnecessary or unbeneficial project and asked yourself, “What’s the point?” We all have been there before, and it’s a frustrating thing to consider doing something for no reason whatsoever. It seems that many people today look at their lives and ask, “What’s the point?” This is an incredibly sad place to be, but here’s the good news – There is a point!

How Should We Worship God?

Turn on the television to some religious programming or walk into any random place of worship in your community. What do you expect to see? Chances are you don’t know what to expect. Some worship assemblies provide an impressive display of lighting schemes, set designs, and talented singers and musicians. Some will try to match the quality of such high-dollar productions and fall far short of them. Others take a more minimalist approach and array their places of worship with the barest of necessities.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

This most basic, yet most important, question was posed by thousands of people to the apostle Peter in response to his famous sermon, some 50 days after Jesus had died (see Acts 2). Peter responded by saying, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Upon hearing Peter’s response, three thousand people put on Christ through baptism!
