Welcome to the website for the South Green St. church of Christ (Glasgow, KY).  We hope that you find our website helpful and informative as well as spiritually uplifting and challenging.  In an effort to achieve these goals, we have provided the following for your consideration:

  1. A Who We Are page that not only includes a drop down menu that directs you to a brief history of this congregation and brief bios about our current leaders (Elders, Deacons, Ministers, and Staff - this is currently experiencing technical problems), but also, when clicked, a statment about who we are and what we stand for, namely, the truth of the Bible and the Gospel it contains (this is in the process of being completed).
  2. A Weekly Encouragment page that displays, in digital form, the weekly articles that the Ministers of this congregation write for those who recieve our prinited newsletter every week.
  3. An Audio page that gives you access to sortable audio recordings of past sermons (dating back to October of 2011).
  4. A Links page where you can view and access a variety of other websites that we recommend to all who have a keen interest in the Bible.

If you are a member of this congregation, a further Members menu is available to you upon login.  This menu displays current announcments, prayer lists, supported mission works, an online directory, and the opportunity to download current and past newsletters.  See Jesse Wagner for login information.

Joel is a prophet consumed with true repentance (as he should be!). He speaks of our need for it, what it really is, how to nurture it, and in whose Name we can express it.

Passage: James 5:16
Brother Bart makes four observations concerning what happens when sin is kept silent: (1) It puts others in danger, (2) It grows, (3) It becomes acceptable, and (4) It kills. Shall we heed his advice?

The 11th song of "The Songs and Hymns We Sing" simply emphasizes the responsibility that we have as Christians to carry into the world that which has been given into our hands, namely, the Gospel.

#YOLO is a current twitter trend, especially popular in 2012, that challenges the individual to do something extraordinary since this is the only live we have to live. Given our society and the world at large, being a Christian is becoming a big risk. But this is nothing new to us, as both OT and NT children of God have risked their lives for God's sake. For us today, we only get one life to decide to be in Christ or not. Have you made that risky decision? #YOLO

This is the tenth song discussed in our series "The Songs and Hymns We Sing." The song title, like many others but perhaps more so, is sufficient to describe itself. In Christ, let us sing and be happy!

"Christendom" loves to preach about the Resurrection of Jesus on "Easter Sunday." But there is so much more to Jesus than that one event. Everything comes together cumulatively. It is not just one event here that saved us, or one event there. All are important, which is why Bart decided to spend time on an otherwise neglected event at the end of Jesus' earthly existence: the Ascension. Without it, there would be no salvation. Without it, there would be no Heaven.

What does God's creation proclaim? Psalms 8 and 19 are just a couple places in the Scriptures that says God's creation has a message to tell. For our purposes, that message is simple: (1) They tell us to think about God, and (2) They tell us God thinks about us.

Passage: Psalms 47:6
Series: Our Worship
In this final lesson of the Our Worship series (part 7), Bart spends his time speaking about that much beloved and cherished aspect of worship in the Church: singing. However, did you know singing is a blessing for the singer? It allows us to be obedient, uplifted, receive instruction, fight Satan, and praise God.

In part 8 of The Songs and Hymns We Sing, Bart uses the song "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" to answer the question, "What is a true friend?" and prove the assertion, "There is power in prayer!"
Sunday, March 03, 2013
As part 6 of the Our Worship series, this lesson identifies the reasons for preaching, and the responsibilities of both the preacher and the auditors. A fresh reminder in the least!
